Six Years. Two People. One Whole Sport.

Six years ago, ScoreLab was nothing more than an idea.

There was no team of dozens of developers, no analytics department, no marketing budget, and no large infrastructure behind it. There were simply two people and a desire to build something we felt water polo was missing.

A lot has changed since then.

There are still no team of dozens of developers, no analytics department, no marketing budget, and no large infrastructure behind it but what started as an idea on a blank sheet of paper has grown into a fully developed system used across water polo competitions in Russia. Our tools have become part of the work of federations and leagues, and ScoreLab has effectively become the de facto standard for water polo statistics in Russia.

At some point, ScoreLab went beyond the Russian pool as well. Our tools have been used in broadcasts of international LEN matches — something we could hardly have imagined when this journey began.

For two people who started with nothing but an idea, that's quite a milestone.

But the most important part of this story is that we don't see six years as a finish line.

Every new season is a new starting point for us. New ideas, new challenges, new tools and new possibilities. We keep developing the system, improving what already exists and finding new ways to make statistics more useful to everyone involved in water polo.

And our users are a huge part of that process.

Your feedback, suggestions, requests and even criticism are what keep ScoreLab moving forward. Many of the features in the system today exist because someone once said:
“It would be great if ScoreLab could do this…”

So we built it.

Over the past six years, ScoreLab has not simply grown from an idea into a working product. In a number of areas, our system has long surpassed its international counterparts — and we have no intention of slowing down.

Because six years is not the end.

It is not even a finish line.

It is simply another milestone on a much longer journey.
